But in a world where plopping down in front of a computer for eight hours is still considered the norm, what do you do when you want to get moving?

The answer is simple: find a job that keeps you on your toes and stimulates your mind.

Whether you’ve got ants in your pants or simply are looking for a career change, here are four jobs that take you from cubicle potato to an active working professional.

Online advertising is a booming industry and even the smallest of startups are always looking for new talent.

Although you still need a computer to work, becoming a digital marketing manager, SEO specialist or even paid search expert allows you to work from anywhere. Even as a full-time employee, you still have a lot of wiggle room when it comes to flexibility.

Landscaper

If you’ve always had a green thumb, swap your pencils for potting soil and become a landscaper. Not only do you get spend your days outdoors, but you also get to spend time doing what you love. However, if the idea of landscaping is intimidating, you can always check out positions at your local nursery or greenhouse.

This career change would require earning certifications and truck license training to operate a rig that large. You would also need to decide between freelance work and working with a specific company. Each has its pros and cons but, either way, you get the freedom of the open road.

If you’re not sure where to start, there are also several online companies who find the clients for you. All you need to do is submit a writing sample with proper identification.

Deciding to walk away from the daily grind isn’t easy, but it’s definitely worth it. If you’re worried you won’t succeed, you can start a side hustle and see how it feels. Nothing is set in stone and if things don’t work out, you still have your regular job to fall back on.
