Need Employment? 4 Jobs that are Always Hiring

February 18, 2019 by Guest Contributor

Being unemployed for any amount of time can be stressful. Whether you have a degree in your pocket or are just starting out, however, you’ll still be able to find employment if you know where to look. There are certain industries that are known to hire new employees regularly, and some that are currently suffering from a shortage of applicants. By searching any of these four industries for open positions, you may end up landing a stable job that will pay your living needs and beyond for as long as you need.

Medical

You don’t have to be a doctor to find a good job in the healthcare field. Nurses and medical assistants are always in high demand, but you may need additional education to be hired. Working as phlebotomist, which involves drawing patients’ blood, is another possible option that doesn’t require a lot of additional schooling. You can also become a medical office manager or an office administrator and play an important role in scheduling appointments, answering patient questions and keeping medical records in order. No matter what your education level, you’ll be able to find a hospital or clinic that is hiring and happy to have you on their team.

Technology

Skilled workers in technology are needed constantly to help companies keep up with modern demands. Information technology (IT) experts are often in high demand for their ability to solve basic computer problems. If you are interested in fixing the “guts” of a computer you should look into getting an A+ certification.  On the other hand if the programming side is more your thing a Microsoft Certification will certainly help speed along your job search. You can also provide support through call centers in customer service, which is always hiring and rarely requires any prior experience. Even if you aren’t a technology guru yourself, you can still find work in technology through sales or onboarding services, both of which are easy to get into and can potentially earn you well above a living wage.

Trucking

Businesses that deliver goods to consumers or other businesses hire truck drivers regularly to do the job. The trucking industry, however, is experiencing a shortage in applicants, making your bid for a position all the more valuable and extremely likely to be accepted. You’ll need to have a good driving record without any charges of operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs to be hired by most companies, but the only education required is often a one-day auto heavy rigid vehicle course or commercial vehicle license. If you enjoy driving and are a safe and responsible driver, then trucking is a great, often high-paying job for those in need of swift employment.

Hospitality

Wait staff, caterers and hotel baggage handlers are just some of the positions that are available in the hospitality industry. Many of the open positions won’t require more than a general education and can lead to long-term employment. Some of the main advantages to working in the hospitality industry include flexible hours and high earnings through tips. This is yet another industry that is always hiring, so if you need to get a job quickly, this is a great place to look. This is also a great option for seasonal positions or those who just need a few extra hours of supplemental income.

Some jobs are always hiring, and you can apply for one of these positions if you think that you’d be an ideal fit. Trying to get a job in an industry where the demand for applicants is high will vastly increase your chances of getting employed quickly. Make sure to do research before you apply, as well, so that you can use that high demand to negotiate for more benefits and higher pay so that you can comfortably remain in that position for as long as you need.
